The benefits of the Bradford – Bond Head area
Bradford Bond Head Planning area in the southern part of Simcoe County is an ideal location for the new homes, recreational areas, schools and business that Ontario will need in the future.
Ontario needs areas like this for its future projected population growth: An additional 3.5 million people by 2035!
Bradford-Bond Head is not on environmentally-sensitive lands. It is north of the protected Oak Ridges moraine and east of the sensitive Niagara Escarpment.
It is between Barrie on the north and Toronto on the south.
It lies at the intersections or close to major transportation corridors including highways 400 and 88 as well as GO Transit.
It will be made more accessible in the years to come as existing highways are extended and new ones constructed in the area.
While existing agricultural land will be taken out of production to provide needed homes for Ontario citizens, the future growth needs of the province cannot be met solely by so called 'brown field' developments in which former urban industrial lands are remediated and turned into settlement areas.
In the regional and historical context of Ontario growth patterns, the Bradford Bond Head area is the next logical area for growth.
